Rövid történet:
The Who zenekart 1964-ben Pete Townshend alapította, Roger Daltrey énekessel, John Entwistle basszusgitárossal és Keith Moon dobossal.
A zenekart a hard rock egyik legnagyobb és legbefolyásosabb együttesének tartják.
Korai korszakuk punk stílusjegyeket mutatott (gyakran nevezik őket "A punk nagyapjainak": forrás: wikipédia), majd 1969-ben megalkották a rocktörténelem első rockoperáját, a Tommy-t.
A fenegyerek "rosszfiúkként" törtek zúztak, őrjöngtek rendesen a színpadon.
1978-ban elhunyt Keith Moon, helyére Kenney Jones érkezett a The Small Facesből.
